United Methodist Women

PURPOSE:

The organization unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of Covenant  has three groups that meet and focus on missions directly related to women, youth and children.

  • Morning Glory Circle meets at the church the first Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m.
  • Koinonia Circle meets in member's homes the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
  • M&M's (Mary & Martha) meet at the church on the second Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m.

The women of all three groups meet together 4 times a year for various programs.  They also participate in Church Women United activities, sew cancer pads twice a year, and attend School of Christian Mission during the summer.

The main fund raising activities of Covenant's UMW are:

  • The Soup and Bread Luncheon held in March - a free will donation is accepted for a bowl of homemade soup and bread with all proceeds going to missions
  • The sale of Apple Dumplings held in October with all proceeds going to missions

All women are invited and encoursaged to participate in United Methodist Women.  For more information, contact Lisa Rabadeux.
