Ways to Serve

There is nothing like getting involved and feeling a sense of ownership in our community. Together we can make a difference! Every life that is touched has the potenital to grow towards wholeness. Through the work of our hands, Christ is glorified and we truly learn to “love our neighbor as ourselves” Matthew 22:37-39

- Advent Conspiracy During November and December Covenant collects new winter coats that we then distribute to the needy in Fort Wayne.

- Bashor Children’s Home Quilts - Throughout the year people of Covenant sew quilts that are given annually to the youth at Bashor Children's Home.

- Sewing Cancer Pads - Women sew cancer pads semi-annually during a day-long project.

- Covenant Knitters - Knitters prayfully knit shawls that are then given to persons needing to feel comfort and love.

- Fort Wayne Rescue Ministries - Covenant sends a team of unpaid servants to serve dinner at the Rescue Mission several times a month.

- Habitat for Humanity Homes - Covenant sends money and unpaid servants to a United Methodist Habitat House build.

- Homebound Meals - Unpaid servants deliver meals and love weekly to shut-ins.

- Operation Outreach - Once a year, all ages of Covenant set aside a day to go out into the community as the hands and feet of Jesus, to serve various agencies through a wide range of activites.

- Second Saturday Servants - A caring group of men and women perform manual tasks for agencies and individuals on the Second Saturday of each month. Sometimes jobs are selected through NeighborLink Fort Wayne.

Study Connection Tutoring - People of Covenant tutor individual students one hour a week during the school year through the Fort Wayne Community Schools' Study Connection program at Lincoln Elementary School.

- United Methodist Women - A group of women who support children, youth and women through various mission projects, educational programs and donations.

- Whitington Homes - A group of women spend a couple hours a month with the girls at Whitington Homes providing them with different experiences, a good time and love.

- Youth Mission Trips - The Youth of Covenant participate in mission projects in the Fort Wayne area and nationally.
