Opening The Windows of Heaven
by Pastor Jack Scott
The Ministry of Stewardship is an exciting experience. It is
viewed through many lenses and is often misunderstood. Here at
Covenant United Methodist Church we have been blessed to have a
tremendous number of resources in people with many gifts and
graces, as well as financial resources to support the ministries
God has entrusted to us.
I firmly believe that we are responsible for EVERYTHING God has
given us, beginning with our lives, everything we own, the
environment, and all that we see, smell and touch. What I am
saying is that the universe is God’s by right of creation and
continuing ownership.
Since I view stewardship as a vital part of our life, I believe
we as a church have a responsibility to understand our role of
Stewardship in God’s world.
After prayerful consideration, the finance committee and I set
in motion a team designed to educate our congregation in
Christian stewardship. As
they begin this task, please pray for this ministry team as they
discern what God is asking them to do, to assist the Covenant
congregation to help make stewardship a way of life.
We live in an age of abundance, and God has tremendously blessed
us. Stewardship IS NOT all about money as many people would want
you to believe. Stewardship is: faith that results in
corresponding action, and a response to what God has given to
us.
Please welcome and pray for our new stewardship Ministry Team as
they begin their journey of defining and refining the meaning of
Christian Stewardship here at Covenant United Methodist Church.
The team members are: Daphne Austin, Terry Bearman, Faun Brown,
Cameron Duffner, Laura Duffner, Mary Hamrick, Chelsea Hoffman,
Alice Knepp, Ron Miller, Lisa Rabaduex, Dan Templeton, Pastor
Jack
Thank you,
In His Steps,
