Mason and Claire grew up in separate states, but found themselves together at a Christian summer camp where they got to know each other and dated long distance until they married in August 2016. Both grew up in the church (Mason here at Covenant!) and felt the Lord calling them to mission work when they took a short over seas mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
After fundraising for 9 months, Mason and Claire moved to Nairobi, Kenya in April 2018. God opened the door to Kenya by calling on their experiences working at summer camp during college, as well as having a heart for working with students. Their current work allows them to do a lot of what a youth pastor might do in America: host youth group and bible studies, mentor students, and even coach sports at the local International School. Their biggest event of the year, a weekend retreat called Discipleship Now (DNOW), is regularly attended by 120+ students from all over Nairobi.
In 2020 Mason and Claire returned to Indiana because of Covid and while they were living and working in Indiana they started their family with the birth of their two sons, Hudson and Zion. The boys were born at 27 weeks, and 4 days after birth, their son Hudson passed away. Zion has continued to thrive and is an active little boy who helped to welcome his sister, Holland Aliyah, to the family in February of 2022.
Continued prayers for the Miller family are always appreciated as they return to Kenya in October 2022 to continue their ministry with international youth through BlueSky Global along with having their children with them.
